Nervous Wreck!!!

I am scheduled for a LAVH/BSO on March 8th....I am a total nervous wreck...I have so many things to do and working part time, 3 kids at home, and I am just so preoccupied with this surgery and the not being able to do anything when I get home that I am going crazy. I am debating on whether I should call my doctor and see if I need something for my nerves of if that is even a bad idea...I just can't focus on anything. I am biting my husbands head off for just about everything he says. I am trying not to lose my patience with the kids. 2 are mine, 1 is his. They are more understanding than he is...at least I feel that way. I am crying at the drop of a hat...What should I do...I have to work a few more days between now and then and I don't know if I can handle it.....I am just about to become desparate....Please give me some advise.....

Nervous Wreck!!!

I know. Those days waiting for your surgery are very difficult.

Call your Dr and see if he can help you get through these last weeks. Often, they are very willing and able to help get you through it.

Nervous Wreck!!!

Hi-
Before my hysterectomy I was very nervous, and distracted- as you are. Other sisters re-assured me that the waiting and "not knowing" was the worst part. It really was so for me.
I agree with Kay- maybe your doc can help you out now. Please be re-assured that your anxious feelings are very normal.

Nervous Wreck!!!

I'm feeling the exact same way. I feel like I'm gettin absolutely nothing done. I have a week before my lavh-bso. I feel like I'm running in circles.

I know that it doesn't help any to hear me say that. Just know that you're not alone. Call your dr and see what he says. I'm about to the point where I may just do that myself.

I'll be praying for you and everyone else coming up on " the big day"

Nervous Wreck!!!

Ditto! I felt like a nervous wreck too! Please call your Doctor. A little pill could help you to stay calmer. The last couple of weeks, I have been taking one every day for anxiety. I am still stressed but not as much. I was also feeling overwhelmed by everything I wanted done before I go in. I made a "to-do" list. Every night I choose one thing to do (more on the weekend) and it feels great to cross it off the list afterwards. I work full time and have 4 teenagers so I don't know if I will complete the list but at least I feel like I'm not going in a circle. Good luck. Take care.....Frenchie

Nervous Wreck!!!

I am scheduled for a TAH on 3/8. Had my first panic attack yesterday with my boss at work about how much I need to get done before taking leave. Not so bad at home but have been a crazy woman trying to get as many "honey do" items checked off the list as I can. Having wood flooring installed today, painted last week, put up new doors, cooking and freezing like crazy. Figure I'm not allowed to drive for 6 weeks post-op so my house which no doubt will quickly become "the compound" better be the way I want it. Feels good to get things done. Make lists, do what you can to keep busy (without overdoing it) and see your doc if you think meds will help. Good luck to you!

Im scared too...

I have four days. I am scared too and have been the two weeks Ive been waiting. I have found meditation the best solution. If I could meditate 24 hours a day Id be just fine. I use guided meditations I downloaded into my Ipod, for an hour or two each night . I plan to use it in the hospital and in recovery too....it really helps.

You'll be fine...

Hey girls I just got home on monday and had the hysterectomy on febuary 17,2006 and I like you was freaking out for 2 months. but what calmed me down was my husband telling me that everything would be better in the end. No more heavy periods , no more huge cramps, no more woundering about the cancer and the cancer cells. and you know what even thou i still have pain cause it's only a week tommorow I look to the bright side. I did then and I do now and you'll only feel physically and emotionally better afterwards

Nervous Wreck!!!

I called my doctor's office earlier and they finally called me back. He wasn't in this afternoon so they will talk to him in the morning and see what he thinks...I am afraid they may try to give me antidepressants but at this point if it makes me feel better what the heck...I am running around like my head is cut off and not getting a thing done. Have to work a 10 shift (bank) tomorrow so I need to be able to think..After that only 2 1/2 more work days..... but taking kids to get dental work done, trying to clean house and get things they way I want them and so everyone here can manage without me being up for a few days.....Hopefully they will give me something better. I am on darvocet for my pain, but have take so much for my fibro that it isn't really doing a thing.....I have taken lorcet before and it worked a little better...Don't know...just need help......

Nervous Wreck!!!

Ask your doctor about ativan it's a relaxer not an anti-depressant and they work well I had no choice cause i coulden't sleep or eat cause of my nerves but with the support of family and friends and the help of ativan i made it through. but ativan might make you a sleepy but it doesn't hurt cause i have a child of my own and it wasn't that bad the side affects i mean lol.
take care
