Nervous Wreck!!!

I've been pretty grouchy and irritable the last few days. I actually yelled at my husband before I left for work tonight. I know it's just anxiety becasue my surgery is one week from today. My house is a disaster, and it seems like no one is helping me. I have 3 nights left to work after tonight, plus a call night so I could work 4 more. I have a wonderul husband and good kids, and I know I'm just being nitpicky. My co-workers have been very supportive. Most of the older ones have already had hysters and they have been great when it comes to giving me advice and lifting my spirits. One of the CRNAs came back tonight and offered to do my anesthesia, and he had me cracking up. If I can just get through this coming week, I'll be fine. I go for my preop in the morning, so I'm sure I'll get the rest of my questions answered.

I agree with the meditation post. Meditation has been a life saver for me.

Nervous Wreck!!!

Well, my preop is the day before my surgery....kind of makes me nervous but I won't have as long to think about it....I have been yelling at my husband too. I feel exactly the same way that you do Bonella...My house is a wreck. I've had over a month to get things done and now the last two weeks I am taking kids to the dentist. Still need to shampoo the carpet put more things away. Just moved into the house the end of Nov and with feeling bad and working I still have boxes in the garage that I need to unpack...So hopefully I will get some kind of medication to calm me a bit...I think I am going to take a pain pill so I can go to sleep and be able to get up at 4:30 and start my day....gotta be at work at 7:40 and work over 10 hours.....I'll manage or I'll just come home. I wish I could just get some rest and relax..........

Nervous Wreck!!!

Try to delegate some tasks at this time, I hope you have some other adults around you who can do some things you want to get done before your big day. Also realize that you won't get it all done beforehand, some things you wil simply have to let go of for now, and that's okay; some things can really wait until later. Some things won't get done, and they will take care of themselves. I tried to keep myself busy in the couple of weeks before my surgery, but not TOO busy, because I didn't need the stress. Give yourself some breathing space if possible. You will come through this.

Oh, I know how all of you are feeling that is coming closer. Really, it will be over in no time, you will wonder why you were so worried. No more periods, no more lousy tired feelings and all the other stuff. I was nervous and all before time myself, but said a big prayer and knowing it was going to be just fine when I got home. You know what? It was fine and I did really good, and so will you. Hugs to all and I will keep you in my prayers.

I am scared too! 5days until surgery TAH BSO, Abdominal! I am not so much scared about the surgery as I am about all the scary stuff everybody is telling me. Like you are going to gain lots of weight that you will not lose;you will never feel the same; libido gone for ever.
I am 41 and married. They found a mass on my left ovary, fibrous cysts in the uter. and stage four endo.
Please somebody take to me.

Nervous Wreck!!!

It's me 58- I agree with the other posts call your doctor. Rest assured it's normal to be scared.
bine- My surgery is the 28th I've been scared since the time the gyn said hysto!!! I had my pre op at the hospital on the 23rd everything went well. I had my pre-op with my pcp on the 24th. My anemis has gotten a little worse. Just got over a period from hell. No wonder the anemis is worse I just lost my whole blood supply!!! Well my pcp is a wonderful man and calmed all my fears and wanted to make sure someone was going to take care of me and the 3 girls I care for. He reminds me all the time how important I am and that I have to take care of myself because so many people need me. He's so sweet. He's been like a father to me from the day my own passed away and I was in his office with an emotional breakdown. Him and his wife will give me a hug and emotional support that I need. Some how I left his office with an eerie since of calm. Please don't worry about what other people tell you, all the scary stories and such. All of us women are so different. This will effect all of us in different ways. I'll pray that everything goes well for you with your surgery. PM me anytime 's Marie 10

Nervous Wreck!!!

hey bine and frenchie, I just wanted to tell you not to listen to what other people say, everybody is different and we all heal in our own way! I heard the stories to and freaked myself out. I just had the abdominal hysterectomy 8 days ago and i'm in here writing so it can't be all that bad right lol. The worst part for me was the fleet that I had to drink before surgury so that says a lot. you will be sore as I am but just think of how good you'll feel afterwards! That's what keeps me going.
My prayers are with you guys!
