surgery again

Hi, I am new to this site. I had a hysterectomy three years ago. I am having my second surgery since my hysterectomy tomorrow to remove a reacurring pelvic mass and my cervix. It is very frustrating but I have constant pain from this mass that is about 10 cm. My doctor said my cervix should have been removed with my hysterectomy. The doctor that did my hysterectomy said he couldn't because of the severe endometriosis. The worst part of surgery for me is the Anestesia always makes me sick.

Jennifer, I am very sorry about all of this. I hope this surgery is very sucessful and you go on to recover very quickly. I did want to tell you that anesthesia makes me sick too, but this time, they put a patch behind my ear before surgery and gave me zofram in my iv and Ididn't get sick at all..... no throwing up. I really stressed to the anestheslogist that I didn't want to nauseated after my surgery and I wasn't. Thought this might help you. I wish you the best. Emily

Emily, Thanks, for the info. I didn't get sick this time and it made a world of difference on the lenghth of my recovery. I only stayed in the hospital two days and usually I stay at least four. I aslo got the patch behind my ear and the meds for nausea. I made sure in the hospital that I got the meds every four hours. Yesterday, less than 24 hours of being home I got sick and my hubby called the doctor and got me anti nausea medication and I haven't been sick any more.
