3 week post Doctor exam!!

I am at my 3 week post surgery date. I went in to see my doctor for my first checkup after surgery. She did an internal and external exam. I had a hernia operation also wich has left my tummy extremely swollen and very sore. My Doc. was pushing on my swollen tummy quite hard and I am now in more pain than I was last week!
I am trying hard to understand one step forward two back rule, however, I am not sure this was totally necessary.
I was also put on a anti-biotic which I never recieved any after I was relesed from the hospital.
Any suggestions?

3 week post Doctor exam!!

I'm so sorry you're feeling pain from your examination s I think I would take OTC pain meds to help and maybe a heating pad or icepack on the sore area. Hopefully it will be better in another day or so. If not, give your doctor a call.

Gentle s and best wishes.........Wendy

3 week post Doctor exam!!

I had my first post-op visit this past Monday and my doc was poking around in my urethra so bad I almost came off the table (I had a lap hyst., TVT, prolapse repair). I hate when they tell you, "you'll feel a little pressure" when they should be saying, "you're going to feel some pain now" although sometimes not knowing what comes next is helpful. Hang in there and know that better (pain-free) days are ahead...

I also had hernia repair with my hyst. My surgen didn't push on my tummy at all so I can't imagine how much that hurt. I'm so sorry you're going thru that. My surgen did tell me before I left the hospital that if I had pain to use hot, damp towels on my tummy. That really helped. Some times the hernia repair would hurt when I didn't hurt anywhere else. Good luck. I hope you feel better soon.
