Climara Pro Patch

Good Morning~

I'm three days post op, and my doctor has me on a once weekly Climara Pro patch. It delivers estrogen and progesterone. I had endo so he said I cannot be on straight estrogen. Anyone taking this? If so, have you had success or any side effects?

I haven't felt well enough to sit and read through the Hormone Jungle articles, but hopefully will feel up to it soon.

The patch was put on me right after surgery, and I haven't felt any differently about me. I know a lot of the symptoms for surgical induced menopause, but as of yet, I don't have any. This is a good thing right? Maybe my Dr. nailed the right dose right off the bat?

During my surgery the doctor found 'holes' in my ovaries, along with endometriosis. Does endometriosis eat holes in your ovaries? Could the holes be from the prior lap I had to remove endo about 2 1/2 yrs ago? Any thoughts on this?

Thanks in advance,

Twizz

Climara Pro Patch

Hi Twizz, it is a bit too soon after your surgery, I think, to tell if your dosage of HRT is the right one. After my remaining ovary was removed due to endo, I didn't take any HRT and I didn't start to have any symptoms of menopause until about 3-4 months out. At the moment I am using the Climara Pro patch, (I use half a patch) and I learned on here that the "pro" part of it isn't bio-identical progesterone but a synthetic version of it (called a progestin) which in some respects works the same way but in other ways is different. When I use Climara Pro my breasts get much larger and very sore, which could be a side effect of the progestin in the patch. I am thinking of stopping it because of this. I think for you at this point the best course is to just wait and see how you feel on it, maybe you'll be one of the lucky ones who finds balance right away. Best of luck in your recovery, make sure to take it easy and pamper yourself. Andrea
