Medication to empty bowel

HI lev I agree with the other sisters about bowel prep. Ask Your Doctor
about it first. My only reccomendation would be to eat light the week before surgery dont eat to much red meat. or too much fried food. this helped me tremendously.
Good luck

Medication to empty bowel

A word about not eating red meat before surgery, If you are anemic the red meat may help with your iron. I would be very careful and try not to lose to much weight because you do need to be strong and healthy before surgery. Sometimes people can loose a lot of weight and then compromise their recovery. Please be careful and if it were me I'd eat normally the week before and then see what your dr. recommends. I only had a light meal the night before surgery and that was fine with me. I had a normal diet all through the week before. The only reason I got nauseated in the hospital was because I was given percocet on an empty stomach with only two crackers which wasn't enough. Otherwise I did fine. Good luck to you.
