I Have Discovered How To Get Help From My Kids!

I Feel Like I Have Found The Holy Grail! My 2 Kids Are 4 And 7. They Do Help Around The House Some. It Is Somewhat Begrudgingly, However. Sometimes They Whine. (i Have A Tough Time W/ Whining!) Anyway...we Developed Some Games That They Are Now, Get This, Asking To Play! I Will List Them, And You All Can Use Them If You Want To! We Play Simon Says. I'm Simon! They Do Whatever Little Jobs I Say! From Getting Me Water, To Dustbustering Under The Kitchen Table! We Play The Matching Game With Socks! We Play The Race To Strip And Remake Your Bed Game! We Also Play The "i Didn't Whine Today" Game. This Is My Personal Favorite. We Keep A Chart On The Fridge For Stickers. At The End Of The Night, Before Bed, They Both Get A Prize. New Crayons, A New Marker, A Balloon, Whatever. I Went To The Dollar Store On Sunday,w/ Dh And Boys In Tow. They Told Me Things They Liked. I Spent 8 Bucks, And Now Have Little Sherpas To Do My Bidding! I Have Them Each Pich A Room To Start With. They Take Each Item That Is Out Of Place, And Make A Big Pile. After They Have Gathered Everything, They Deliver It To The Appropriate Room. This One Is Also A Race. They Now Set The Table. They Vacuum The Carpet-we Have A Canister Vac. The Odler Ds Lays Out Younger Ones Clothes. This Is Lovely! My Older Boy, Last Night Before Bed, Actually Thanked Me For Teaching Him How To Clean The Tub! He Said That It Makes Him Feel Important. What A Little Peach! Tonight Is A Big Night...we're Going To Play The What Did You Find Under The Bed Game! I Have Been Laid Up For Six Weeks Now Due To Some Complications. I Have Been Very Angry And Sad At Times, But I Now Realize That So Much Good Has Actually Come Of It. Yeah, It Has Been Hard, But I Am Learning Patience. I Guess Someone Above Really Does Know Better. I Just Need To Count My Blessings. Maybe Twice, And Stop Focusing On The Negative. Peace And Prayers To All Of You. I Don't Think That I Wouldv'e Arrived At This Spot Mentally If It Weren't For This Site. Thank You.

I Have Discovered How To Get Help From My Kids!

WHAT A WONDERFUL IDEA!!!!

Too bad that simon says doesn't work on an almost 13 yr old. Ha ha! But at 13, I don't need to play simon says with her. I just tell her. "Do it please". Anyhow, sounds like you've got this whole helper thing under complete and total contol.

Twizz
P.S. Do you think that will work with my DH?

I Have Discovered How To Get Help From My Kids!

What a great idea! My kids are teenagers and I told them if they didn't help so I could recover quickly that we wouldn't be able to go visit their brother for Spring Break. I haven't had to do anything around here. They are even doing their own laundry.
