Swelly Belly--how long?

Hi All!

Just wondering how long the swelly belly lasts after hyst? Is it gone after you'r 6-8 week recovery or are we talking months later & it is still hanging around?! Does it get any bigger than it normally does with the fibroids etc? It will feel good to send it all walking!!!

Hugs!

Swelly Belly--how long?

Hi, here's a link to an article explaining swelly belly
https://www.hystersisters.com/vb2/hsa....php?id=163685

Some ladies get swelly belly , some don't . The amount of time involved seems to vary quite a bit too. So, there's no cut and dry answer to your question. I had some swelling and it seemed to get a bit better each day. I'm not sure when it completely went away - I just noticed one day that my pants fit again

Best wishes.

Swelly Belly--how long?

It seems that everyone is different when it comes to the swelly belly! There doesn't seem to be any rhyme nor reason for who has it longer than another. I definitely had a big ol belly happening for about 2 weeks. After that I really noticed it change dramatically and now at nearly 9 weeks, I don't have any swelling at all. I guess I am one of the lucky ones!

Swelly Belly--how long?

I was swollen to start with, only happy in very loose clothes. It slowly got better. Even up to 12 weeks, I could see slight swelling at the end of a busy day. I haven't noticed it for a couple of weeks now though. I could fit in ALL my old clothes comfortably by 3 months but there is a tiny bit of weight gain left - need to start exercising again, don't think it's swelly belly now!!!

Swelly Belly--how long?

HI there!
I'm about 9 months post op and still have a bit of swelling and tenderness. Nothing major, only noticeable if I'm leaning up against the counter or something like that. OPverall I fell great and would do it again in a heartbeat.
Good luck!

swelly belly-how long

I guess that I was one of the lucky ones. I had very little swelling. I'am now one week post op and no swelling at all. My doctor told me not to overdue it, or wear clothing that was to tight because that can make the swelling worse. Thats why I choose not to wear the swelly belly band that alot the the girls are getting.

Swelly Belly--how long?

I am 2 weeks post op today and I noticed today that my belly looks more normal than it has since my surgery. It's still bigger, but nothing like I had last week. I was even able to put my jeans on this morning, but didn't wear them because the sweats are still more comfortable. I think it's just so different for everyone
