adenomyosis, backpain, sciatica

I have had chronic back pain for years now, it is really controlling my life . I notice it cycles,I have up times and then enter the "dead zone"...really bad back pain issues, but also accompanied with somehormonal stuff. Fatigue, cold and hot, indigestion alot, like PMS (only now in a perimenopausal stage it, is hard to predict the time. I have told the doctors there is a connection between my back pain and hormones, or some connection with reproductive system.. I am looking for that link. I was diagnosed with adenomyosis last year when i started bleeding during intercourse. I had a D&C and was better for awhile. Has anyone had this or anything like it ? If I knew the back pain and hip pain would decrease if I had my uterus out, I would definitely look in to that. But I think..what if I have thesurgery and dont notice a difference? Scary thot. Any info out there regarding this ? Thanks Robyn

i had some back pain with my periods always but after a work related back injury it became HORRIBLE. after seeing many doctors i was sent to a back surgeon and i told him how unbearable it was when i had my period, he explained to me how our female organs swell before and during our cycles and with a back injury, and the organs pushing on nerves and such it totally put my situtaion in perspective for me. i was not in a position to need back surgery thank God, but i had to learn to live it that pain each month, i just had my tah on march 27 and this is my major "i wanna see if its better" situtaion. i had my tah due to endo. and andenomyosis which of course i did not know i had till after my operation and path report came back. ask your doc if your back pain could be related to your cycles---he will have your answers i am sure. i wish you the best in your hunt for "feeling better".........

I ruptured a disc in my lower back in1993 and lived thru some incredible pain. I received treatment and went thru alot of physical therapy and slowly improved. Over the years I noticed that back pain had become a part of the PMS package. In the past year that I've been growing fibroids and ovarian cysts, I've also had a lot of pain in my right leg. After my surgery and the removal of an absolutely huge cyst on my right ovary, the pain in my leg all but disappeared. I haven't had any back pain either. I sure hope it stays that way!
