Uterine Cancer

Hi. Hoping that all is well or will soon be well! I'm curious about others who have had TAH BSO's due to uterine cancer and what your symptons were and how long before the cancer was diagnosed. I started irregularly bleeding mid-December 2000, went to the doctor end of January 2001, had a D&C the following month and was diagnosed with uterine cancer early March. On March 27th I had my surgery. I never had pain or symptions except the spotting/irregular bleeding. I feel very fortunate for my doctor was very aggressive and did not ignore my early symptons. Thanks to her the cancer was so early that the surgery was the cure all. I cannot thank her enough. It just shows that we must listen to our bodies. The newest issue of ROSIE has an interview with Fran Drescher, who also has/had uterine cancer. It took her over two years to have it diagnosed. My thoughts are with her as well as all others. Take good care of yourselves.

Dear Sister,

I'm glad that you are feeling good I didn't have my hyst for the same reasons you did. But I bet a sister will be along soon who can relate more to your situation.

I just wanted to pass along my well wishes!

Hi,

My surgery was for suspected cancerous uterine tumors. But thank God my tumors were benign. I had no symptoms except rapid growing huge tumors (9 month preg. size in about a month). You may want to check in the cancer concerns forum. There are some really great women there. I am happy that your surgery got all the cancer.

5 years

It took five years for my cancer to get diagnosed. I went to several diffentent doctors. I had severe flooding and lots of pain. Because I was so young when my symptoms started the doctors never checked for cancer.

I had a TAH on 5/5/00.
