Hyst. Scheduled Im Scared Help!!!

Hi I am new to this board and just stumbled across it. I am only 26 years old, and am scheduled to have a hyst. on May 14.
I have one child. I have been having very severe cramps all of the time. The cramps have gotten so bad that I am now on percicets just to sleep at night. My back feels like I am being trampled all of the time. My periods are unreal. Cant even hardly go on!!!
Had laprascopic surgery last month where they lasered off scar tissue from one ovary, this did not help at all!!
During my exams, when my gyn. touches my uterus, I go into spasms.
He seems to think I have adeno. Of course he could not see it, he just told me the only way to cure all of these terrible pains was to remove the uterus.
He is going to try it through the vaginal, but it so high up due to only one pregnancy, that it may not come out that way, and he may ahve to do abdominal.
I would just like some support. IM SCARED!!

I had adeno, too. It is not what my hyst was for, but I know the pain. I didn`t even know I had it until my path report came back and then it all made sense. I have some adeno links for you.

I was very scared, too. I was most afraid of the post op pain..{mine was abdominal}. I can tell you it was managed very well and I actually had worse period pains than post-surgical.

I also had adeno. I had a TAH with bladder repair. I had my tubes removed due to cysts and kept my ovaries. The link to delphi.com that Kaatie provided, was the first support board that I found. There is a lot of good information there. When I knew a hyst was upcoming, one of the women on delphi, referred me here. I haven't left yet.

I had my surgery almost 1.5 years ago, and have healed pretty well. I was very scared prior to my surgery, and the women here, helped to calm my nerves. I received much needed support, and a lot of information. Getting a second opinion sometimes helps us to make up our minds as to what treatment is necessary. Ask questions, arm yourself with knowledge, discuss things with your doctor, these are all helpful tools when facing this type of decision.

There are many women on the pre-op board that are dealing with similar emotions and fears. Read some of their questions and messages. Sometimes, just seeing that we are not alone, really helps!

I would really like to thank you that have replied to my post. It really does help. I have been looking the board over really good and have found a great deal of peace of mind.
I will be going in on May 14 for the surgery. I am still scared, but this has got to come to an end.
I had my period 2 weeks ago, and woke up yesterday and guess what?? I m having anoter one. I have had it.
