Testosterone Script Question!!

Hello gals!

I have asked this Q privately to one of the Hostess but wanted public opinion too. I see my GYN next week (Im 6 weeks now and feeling so very good and normal except for the sex drive)& I need to know how to educate her on Testosterone replacement. I was a fairly high libido gal....but as oft times happens when losing the ovaries I find I have had no sex drive, thoughts..inclinations etc. since surgery...quite unlike me! Im going to bring up the whole testosterone replacement thing again to her (did on the initial appointment before the Hyst and her reply was she didnt think testosterone helped libido or orgasm much!) My 1st Q is....how is your testosterone cream script worded...and 2, what kind of blood level should we be looking for? I find it odd that this Dr is on the board of one of the area teaching hospitals and yet she does not know of the benefits of testosterone in women!! Thus Im (TA DA!) going to be her teacher...hee hee! Thank you gals!!

Testosterone Script Question!!

my testosterone cream is compounded for me and reads on the tube" 30-. testosterone 5mg/gm CR" I know the CR stands for "continous release" . not completely sure of the strength of the complete dosage........I am using .5 (half a gram ) a day in my dose...........my Dr. said a blood level of between 60-80 free and total testosterone is normal for a woman.........mine was 20.......henceforth the need for the cream!!!! I have started to notice some positive changes.........more strength(less muscle fatigue) and a S-L-O-W-L-Y recovering libido......my Dr. said it will take some time to feel the full effects.............Maybe if your Dr. isn`t familar with the benefits of testosterone ,it would benefit you to see someone who is????? Just a thought Sending you lot`s of good wishes Renee

Testosterone Script Question!!

As my doctor calls in my script to my pharmacist I am not sure how it is worded. Sorry I can't help with that. I did want to add that you are still fairly early post op. You may or may not need testosterone, it may be too early to tell. A drop in libido is not unusual at this point in your recovery. A lack of sexual desire isn't always from a lack of a testosterone. I would highly recommend that you have your testosterone and free testosterone levels tested before adding in this hormone.
