Question for those who've had their cervix removed with TAH

I had a bit of spotting in the hospital(3 day stay) and a spot or 2 the first couple of days home, but that was after a 2-hour car ride to get home....and the highway was in need of a few repairs.

Question for those who've had their cervix removed with TAH

I was at the Dr. Monday with the bleeding. I had already called him sunday night and told him and he told me not to worry. I totally bleed all over the exam table. He examined me and then put some silver nitrate up in me and said I would be fine, it was normal, he didnt see anything torn or anything. Now I'm still bleeding just as heavy as when I was at the Dr.... And he is out of town, and I dont go back until Thursday :P

i actually did not bleed at all right after surgery...i started having some mild discharge about 5 days out,but then i was very very silly, and about 2 weeks or so post-op i lifted up 2 shower doors, and started bleeding good then...i do believe it al depends on the person though..i have read where some bleed alot, and then read where some didnt leed a drop..hang in there, and best of luck with your upcoming surgery...sonie

Cinnamon - Call your dr. and see if there is anyone taking over for him/her while he is out of town. If not, do you have a local hospital or urgent care center? You might want to just give them a call and ask them what they think. It never hurts to ask.

I had only a small amount the first time I went to the bathroom in the hospital, and not a drop of blood or discharge since then. (2/17/06)

Question for those who've had their cervix removed with TAH

My surgery was on April 4th, Tuesday and I bled about medium with some clots. Came home on Thursday and by Saturday bleeding was gone completely. Incision has drained very very little. Promptly developed a UTI--dang! Better now. Best of luck with your surgery!
