Scared To Death

Okay.......I go Monday on the 8th to the doctor for them to tell me what we they are gonna do. I know a hysterectomy is in my future.....I have read about it and what it entails and im scared. I won't be able to take the hormones after the surgery and I am only 30...........I also have cervical cancer stage one......i posted on here last week about that and having to wait.......but I am afraid of having my belly cut wide open. I can't have it vaginally i have a condition that prevents that from happening. I also have pcos and endiometriosis as well as the andeometriosis. It will be a very complicated surgery my bladder is connected to my uterus and there is scar tissue everywhere.............anybody have any advice...........

Thanks Melanie

Scared To Death

Mini Moe ~ I understand the fear of being cut open. But, it gives the doctor the best view of everything and they can remove all of the problems.

I'm 5 weeks out from having a Tah/bso and I can say it isn't as bad as I thought it would be.

Scared To Death

MiniMoe (I am Mo too!) ) Anyway, except for having the cervical cancer and the pcos, we are the same. I had my SAH, bladder repair and rectocele repair 6 weeks ago. The abdominal incision WAS painful for about 10 days. But after that, as long as I wore the binder and was very careful, I felt pretty good. SO good in fact that I had to really keep an eye on my activity level so I did not do too much. Hope this helps! Hugs Raymo

Scared To Death

Hi Melanie,

I just wanted to send you some hugs. I'm sorry you're feeling so scared.

I'm hoping that having a chance to speak with your doctor tomorrow will help. I felt a lot better after I'd had a chance to ask my doctor *all* of my questions. I typed them out (and there were a lot), and brought it with me to my pre-op appt. That way she was able to read through them, and answer them all pretty quickly.

And do all you can to comfort and support yourself right now. I was very nervous before my sugery, and found guided meditation CDs, funny DVDs, and long hot baths the most helpful.

Keep us posted, and let us know how your appt goes.
