Climara patch

I've been using the Climara patch since my surgery. I've had a problem this last week with this one staying on. I put it back on but it doesn't seem to want to stay. Is this a common problem? I'm only suppose to put a new patch on once a week so I've been trying to make this one last. Has anyone found a location on their body that seems to work better than others? I'm wearing mine on my hip and I'm going to try my lower tummy with the next one. Any suggestions would be appreciated.
Thanks, Sheila
P.S. This site has been a life saver since my surgery. I just wanted to say thank you for being there!!

Climara patch

i too am using the cliamra patch. i've not had any trouble with it staying on. i put it on right after i get out of the shower. are you using the "Climara" brand name or is it generic? only asking because my dr said that the generic brands had trouble sticking. i was wondering if anyone has a magic way to get that sticky stuff off of your body that the patch leaves behind? i have used baby oil. rub, rub, rub. are you having any side effects? i am also taking prometrium. i've noticed my hands feeling puffy. not sure which is causing this.

i love this site too. so much info!!!!!!

Climara patch

I'm using the name brand patch. I also use lotion or oil to get rid of the stickys the patch leaves behind. Works great.

Climara patch

I'm also on Climara patch. I got the name brand in the hospital and had no problems with it sticking but my insurance only will cover the generic now. The first week it kept coming off so I got some large tegaderm dressings and haven't had any more problems. The tegaderm is a thin clear dressing like they put over IV sites at the hospital, and I found them at the drug store and grocery. If you can't find the larger ones two smaller ones overlapped work as well. If the baby oil doesn't work to remove the adhesive try a little fingernail polish remover and then wash with soap and water. Good luck

Climara patch

I had trouble with keeping the Climara patch on too. The second time it fell off I called my doctor and she gave me a replacement prescription of a similar patch. You might check in with your doctor and see what she or he thinks.

Climara patch

They put a Climara patch on me just hours after my surgery and it stayed on real well but when I filled my prescription I ended up with the generic brand which didn't stay on. I told my doctor I was having problems with the patch and she suggested I go to an oral prescription...which I did. I'm taking Estradiol (generic for Estrace) and take one very small pill a day. No more patch coming off or sticky residue on the skin...just have to remember to take the pill!!!

Climara patch

I am using the Climara patch too. First round was the generic patches which are thick and after about the 3rd day, they start to come up around the edges and I have to tape them down. Refilled and got the brand name ones and hope they work better. Have to experiment with the best places to put them because I am a big girl and the thick ones don't fit over a roll very well...

Climara patch

I am also on the Climara patch. I did have problems when I put the patch on my backside, but I have not had any problems keeping it on when I put it on my belly. When it was coming off on my back I used a bandaid to keep it on.
