Light GIRDLE???

My mother had a hysterectomy when she was 44 for fibroids and I had one at 46 for the same. Nice inheritance She said that her doctor at the time told her to wear a light girdle for support. I never wore one and was wondering if anyone got that kind of advice from their MD? I did not. This swelly belly is a nuisance! I'm small 5'3" and weigh about 135 but feel like I'm 300 lbs b/c of the belly! 3 weeks post op..feel good.

Light GIRDLE???

For me the control panties helped alot when walking around but then when I would sit down my belly would swell up so much with them on I couldn't stand it. I felt like I was taking them on an off all day. It does help for support but once the swelling starts well forget about it.

Light GIRDLE???

Dear Teacher7,
My Doc didn't recomend anything cuz I didn't give her a chance! I had my SAH on the 26 April and asked the nurse in the castle for a binder on the 27th. She left and promptly returned with a measuring tape, went out again and came back with a wide, velcor binder. Showed me how to put it on and it has been a real help with the "jelly-belly-swelly-belly" jiggles! I know EXATLY how you are feeling so Denise

Light GIRDLE???

I went to medical supplies company and talked with the nurses about it. It says on the box of the binder I got, it is what thats for. I loved wearing mine. Especially when you have to bend over slightly, it helps it all keep in there. I even slept with mine on, because I could flip over on my other side without my belly feeling like I was leaving it behind. Ofcourse I didnt wear it too tight at night, but just enough for support. It also helped my back support and made me stand up straight because I wasnt favoring my tummy as much.
I read so many other people did it, and loved it, I had to try it for myself. I know you local pharmacies should have them or places like wal mart also.
Good luck

Light GIRDLE???

I wear a light girdle every day (the first week postop it wasn't comfortable). It helps a lot with support.

Light GIRDLE???

when i woke up in recovery, i was wearing a binder. i wore it for the two nights i was in the hosp, and 1 day after i was home. i really did not like it. it seemed to cumbersome. i would probably have done better with light support panties.

Light GIRDLE???

That's what I thought...light support panties as well. But right now, I just feel like wearing loose underwear! I can't stand stand the thought of something binding!
