Endo and estrogen?

One of my clients just had some endo removed yesterday. She had been on birth control to help control the endo. It seems like I have heard here that if after you have endo removed they dont put you back on estrogen. Is that true? And why dont they put you back on it if it helps to control it seeing how it returns?
I thank you in advance for any helpful information you can send my way about this. I am confused on this issue.

Endo and estrogen?

Jody, I had recurring endo prior to my hyst.(and none since thank goodness) they put me on progestin to help hinder the growth of the endo (mestranol and micronor)....endo feeds off of estrogen...progestin helps control it.....and sometimes it grows anyways

Being pregnant can help stint the growth of endo as well. Adrite is a great source of info on endo, you should PM her

Endo and estrogen?

I had my TAH/BSO w/bowel resection because of endo. They removed all the endo they could find, including the 8 inch section of my bowel that was infected with it. My doctor didn't put me on HRT right away. She waited until 7 weeks after surgery. She put me on the Climara patch .05 mg (estrogen). She was fairly certain that they got it all, so she felt confortable giving me estrogren.
