pt say's I PROLAPS AGAIN :(

Well I Went To The Pt This Morning.. And She Says I Have A Bladder Prolaps Again...only A Grade 2 But Still That's Pretty Bad Seeing As I Have No Support In There And It Will Get Worse! I'm Sooooo Sad! I Knew I Did Again Last Time It Was More The Rectocele And This Time She Says' It's The Bladder..... She Wants To See Me For 4 More Weeks And See It The Excercises We Do Help Any And Then I Guess It's Back To The Table Again... When Will This Ever End. I Thought I Was Going To Get My Life Back And Now I'm Not!! It's Summer Again And I Can't Ever Imagine Doing This Again!
Has Anyone Had Any Luck Doing Pt To Hold These Things To Pospone Surgery????? I'm Only 31 And I Don't Want To Have Surgery Every Year For The Rest Of My Life!
She Aslo Said She Can Feel Some Sort Of Lump On The Right Side.. She Wants Me To Call My Obgyn And See What It May Be Maybe A Cyst, scar Tissue, god Only Knows.... I'm Sitting At This Computer Right Now Crying I Can't Do This Again, but I Can't Handle This Pain. I Remember With The Rectocele It Hurt Like This All The Time Sorry To Whine I'm Just Feeling Sorry For Myself! I Feel As If I Could Ram My Head Into A Brick Wall :burning:

pt say's I PROLAPS AGAIN :(

Sorry to hear you are having problems again. I have never done PT so I don't know about that...but, I do know about continuing problems and I know they are no fun. I hope the PT helps you...God knows..surgery so many times is not something any of us want to do . How many Dr's does it take to fix us for goodness sake?

pt say's I PROLAPS AGAIN :(

Hi Coffeelover. I'm so sorry you've got all this going on again. I know how you feel about not wanting to go through the surgery again. Since this prolapse is your bladder why not try a pessary temporarily until you feel you need to or want to go through the surgery again. I was never an advocate of pessaries because my first experience with one 23 years ago was not a positive one. But as you know I needed to buy some time while DH changed insurance plans so that I could have the leading specialist in mesh repair perform my surgery. I tried a pessary and after trying a few different sizes, found one that fit comfortably and DH and I were still able to have sex with it in. I probably would have been comfortable not having the surgery and just keeping the pessary if it had not been for the large rectocele which was just getting worse.
I have had PT and though I felt it helped, both the therapist and I knew that the reality of it was Kegels were helpful but not going to suck up my bladder to where it should be. If I were you I would not stop doing therapy though because it is helping to maintain pelvic floor strength.
Best of luck and please let me know what's going on periodically. 's
Michelle

pt say's I PROLAPS AGAIN :(

Hi coffeelover, so sorry you are facing another prolapse. I had an intensive course of pt for my rectocele to see if I could avoid surgery, but it was too far gone. I was pleased I had given it a try though and these people can show you other tricks to help. Good luck. Hang on in there.

pt say's I PROLAPS AGAIN :(

Hi coffeelover
I am so sorry to hear about this. I really thought you were at the end of the tunnel finally. what did you dr use in your last repair? Maybe a different technique would be more successful or maybe a different dr all together. Just a thought. My GP used pelvicol on my rectocele. I don't know if it can be used on a cystocele, although I don't know why not. It is like real vaginal tissue and seems real strong. Maybe this would be a suggestion to your dr.
I hate to say it, but I really doubt if pt will help. I did kegels like crazy for my rectocele, but it did no good. A pessary is another option. I am really sorry you have to go through this. So far my repairs are doing good. My uro/gyn only cut my anterior floor and stitched everything up. He didn't use any mesh or graft I don't think. So I really wonder how long it will last with my weak pelvic floor.
I'll keep you in my prayers

I am so sorry to hear you are having more issues. I have heard that while rectoceles are very difficult to control with physical therapy that bladder issues can be helped with kegels and intensive PT.
