cervical cancer no tx, recurrence?

All right, I'm sure you're sick of me, but I've tried searching the posts and the web, and maybe I'm not typing in the right combo of words, so maybe ya'll can help me. My specific question is that I had noninvasive cervical cancer caused by aggressive strain HPV virus, noted at my hyst. Found out about HPV and dysplasia upon annual pap/checkup in June 04, Hyst in Nov 04, and it had progressed to noninvasive (squamous cell w/epithelial or somthing like that). I had my cervix removed (everything else was taken out cause of my endo causing organ damage), so the doc said no more treatment (tx).
I'm sure everyone knows b/c I've mentioned this in every post recently (I'm sorry, I'm just nervous abt. this appt.!)but I'm going to Mayo in Jax, FL tomorrow to see what' sup. Haven't been PAPed or checked out since hyst in 04.
I'm not necessarily jumping to conclusions, though even my gyn surg (who did hyst) agrees that it def. needs to be looked into, have a lot of goings on that seem to point toward the CC coming back. Of course I don't know that, but it will be investigated tomorrow.
I just cant' find info on this specific situation, so if any of you had a dysplasia/CIN/noninvasive anything like that, needed no tx, just removal of crvx, how did you know you had a reccurence? If you did have reccur. what happened? What was the plan of action? Treatment involved? Surgery? Maybe this doesnt even happen, who knows, but I've heard of people getting vag cancer after hyst, so I guess its not impossible.
I'm not diagnosing myself, just wanted to hear if this is even plausable and how to prepare myself for it.
Thanks SO much, everyone! Sorry to bother you with this! Wish me luck tomorrow!
Love, ChristinaLeigh

cervical cancer no tx, recurrence?

Hi Christina! I just had my cervix removed for the same reason as you did yours. My doctor said that I still could get cancer on the vaginal wall. I don't know what the chances of reoccurance are. I'm hoping along with you that they are small. I have a pap scheduled for August which will be 4 months after my surgery. He said if that was clear then I will have another pap at 6 months after that. Then if that one is clear then I'm on the year plan. I'm curious too about what happens if it comes back. You will be in my thoughts though.
