Pudendal Nerve Entrapment

Yes, I do, I am on my feet a lot as a dental assistant
and some days are unbearable. I particularly have pain
in my right hip. I do believe that the bowel is a part of
the problem, because it is sitting on everything and
probably pulling on ligaments and creating inflammation
in there. My pain is different on different days, I am
at least sure that the bowel is involved in my case, but
what to do about it. There is something called Pro-lift
that is suppose to hold it up, but I don't know much
about it and haven't researched it because I was resisting having another surgery, but I do believe that
somthing will come along that can help these problems,
I was kind of waiting to see, and the pain meds at least
keep me functioning at this time, I am probably headed
for pain mgnt. I also believe that adhesions are a part of it, too. Which that is another monster that nobody
knows how to cure for sure, and some people get results from surgery, but I am just so scared of another
surgery until someone can reassure me they can REALLY
help.

I also have pain down my left leg and it is different on daily, but I had back fusion surgery for that without any relief, it just gave me more pain, six months of grueling pt. and not a bit better. So I had an exploratory surgery and that dr in the Us backed out and I elected to have my adhesion surgeries in Germany, I am not well, but did give me some relief, I am 95 % adhesion free, it is a monster! I went to Germany to use spray gel not FDA approved yet; they grow back. It has been 12 weeks pain in my leg and sitting is less, but not gone. I was so hoping for a miracle. I am now going to a Urogyn, I had shot lidocaine in private area to numb it and it did not work, tomorrow I will have a pudendal nerve block; I have thought this is what I had for the entire time, but couldn't get anyone to listen to me. But I do know that my bowel are part of my problem, my sigmoid colon is herniated in the muscle and that is where the nerve is trapped; I'm not a doctor, but I know my own body and I am teacher who reads a lot! I wish you luck and a painfree day. Pain is so hard to live with, I pray for a cure for you and all of us who suffer. May God Bless you!

Pudendal Nerve Entrapment

Hi,
I have had a hard week, they did the block in the vagina. It was the worse pain I have ever endured while I was awake. I have a slight change in pain, maybe a little less, but no relief yet. I keep praying, they say it takes more than one, a series, who knows what that means. The highs and lows of pain are eating me up and I am so terribly tired of meds, drs, appt, and the all the stuff that goes with it. But what I found out Monday on way to the my specialist, the second doctor I saw knew I had been messed up and elected to pass and me off and quote "let it run it course " he also said - this is know as the the "floodgate theory". My specialist said I could have been fixed then, but too much time has passed and there is only blocks and those things used to help ease the pain. At 4 weeks post op, the second dr. knew that I had been stitched wrong and he could see it and knew I had been stitched through the ligament and nerve, he waiting on it to desolve and it didn't , that explains the bursa and leg, hip, and thigh pain and so much more, but he did not share that with me - I had to read it when I requested my records!!!!!!!! One covering for another - one passing one off to another!!!!!!!!!!! I did not have to live my life in pain if someone would have been honest and told they truth to heal my suffering. How sad!!!! It all boils down to the mighty dollar, it means so much more than anyone's livelyhood. The life I once knew is over and gone. I feel as if there has been a death, that death is me; the real me, she will never ever return without a miracle. I beg all of you to pray for me. I sincerely need a real miracle.
Heart.

Dear Effie, I was surprised to hear that you had the pudendal block vaginally. That was what I anticipated before I went to Houston for diagnosis & block. Mine was given in the lower back. I had one block on March 13 and the 4 year old pain (PNE) has NOT returned (Thank GOD!!). My doctor warned me that most patients only get a few minutes to a few days relief. If I knew any way to prevent a recurrence I would jump on it! I will say that massage & a TENS unit helped my pelvic pain tremendously. The doctors had no clue as to how to treat pain other than Vicodin, etc. I would have never believed that it was possible for me to be pain-free in the pelvic area. I quit work in January because I was crying during my commute. I am just now getting my strength back and hope to return to work in the summer. I hope you find an answer SOON! My prayers are with you.

Pudendal Nerve Entrapment

HI,
Me too, I thought I would have it in the back, but oh no in vagina, it was the most terrific pain ever. I wrote my doctor in Germany who thinks that I need to have surgery to remove my small bowel from the vaginal cuff before I do anything else. I know I dread the next shot, in 2 weeks, the pain was so intense, I don't know if I can make it. I think the nerve is block in the the herniated bowel but who knows. I am going to make an appt with Houston dr for end of June and go from there. Just don't know what to do at this point! One thing I do know, I want to be ME, well happy and enjoying life. I don't want my life to be about my pain and problems. Thanks for the prayers.
