Wow! Sounds like we're all doing something to keep busy.

Miniroses - you're probably a more advanced knitter than I am, but I'm going to try making a scarf out of Lion Brand's new "Incredible" ribbon yarn, since I haven't used it before. Also, I'm practising new stitches with different sizes yarn and needle sizes. Like I said - I'm new at this, but thought it would be a good way to expand my knowledge and have a little fun.

LOVED the party idea with tampon-type things. What a hoot!

OK - here's my list:

trying to get back yard in "shape" and obsessing over details (staining and re-staining concrete pad where I plan to put the patio table/chairs for when I'm able to sit out there!)
making lists of things I need to do/get
trying to fit in the time at lunch break and after work to get to the list items!
emailing friends
planning my last day before surgery (Thursday): let's see, treat myself to nice breakfast and a DONUT!, run errands, have maid service clean house (my treat to myself), nice lunch out, change sheets, sweep front walkway, go to Trader Joe's and pick up all my favorite treats for recovery!

Went on vacation at the Outer banks
Reading every book on having a hysterectomy
Coaching girls softball

Hopefully I will keep so busy that the day will be here and I won't have time to worry. The upside to my surgery day is I am having a tummy tuck at the same time which makes me feel like -- I am giving up my uterus and cervix but I am getting a nice flat tummy.

Okay, I have to be honest. I have tried and tried to go through my normal days. Family, work, lunch, more work, laundry, dinner, cuddle time, "24"....I am completely and totally obsessed with my upcoming surgery. The diagnosis and decision happened so quickly. I try to stay focused on other things, but its like this little voice in the back of my head, "You're getting a hysterectomy. You're getting a hysterectomy...." ALWAYS. It taints my meals, my job, my quality time. Any advice on how to get this under a little control. Now i understand what you mean by the waiting is the worst. Now that I am scheduled...LETS GET IT DONE!!!!!

Hi all,
Well after reading the waits some of you have, I count myself lucky that the decision was made on Monday 15th May, and my hysto will be on the 8th June. Would have been May 31st but couldn't squeeze in a pre ad anaesthesia appt prior to, so only 3 weeks to go for me.
To be honest, I am handling it ok so far, am planning to make meals for hubby and kids, but other than that, not planning much at all. Would love to get my hair done beforehand, what a great idea, might have to work on that one lol.

Luckily, I won't have as long to wait, but yes, no matter what I am doing or how well I seem to be handling this, it is a recurring thorn-in-the-side type of thought. You're not alone. I look forward to what others post about this as well. Best to ya. Mine will now be May 25 if all goes as planned.
