I'm not sure why I'll be in that long. He's told me from the start that it would be 3-4 days, so I guess I never questioned it.
Has anyone else had a LAVH, and had to stay in hosp for 3/4 days??

New too!

Hi Gals...

I just found this site, and WOW! I am glad. I wish I would have found you all a week ago! I have been going through a roller coater of emotions about my surgery. I am also scheduled for surgery the same day as "jerked around". I will keep you in my prayers as well on that day.

I am not sure what to ask, how to deal. I am lost about this whole part of my life that is changing. Some friends say the usual "You won't be in pain anymore"..."This is a good thing"... "You will be just great", "It's o.k. to cry". What do I say to that? No one really understands what I am going through and when they want me to open up about it, they don't know what to say, and I guess I shouldn't expect most to understand what I am feeling. I am just glad I found this site so that I can read other womens stories and encouragements.

I am trying so desperatly not to be sad and walk around crying every time "it" crosses my mind.

Thanks for "listening"
B.

to the bunny: My prayers are with you. Try to keep a clear mind when you go into surgery. At times like this I really miss my mother. I do find that talking with people sometimes only makes me angrier because they act like it's not a big deal. BUT until you are faced with something, then you will never know. So I try to keep the conversation with the people that I fee are closest to me -- husband and very close friends.

Tiredpiglet,
Sorry to hear your boss is being unreasonable with his expectations. Is it possible that your surgeon/gyn knows your boss? If so, perhaps your surgeon/gyn can help in this situation. Doctors seem to trust other doctors. Just a thought. My hyst is four days after yours ... I'll be keeping good thoughts for you!

My mother is so jealous that I'm having a TVH. She was Pregnant 2 Christmases ago and lost the baby so she set herself back about 5 more years until menopause. She can't stand that I'm having a hysterectomy b4 her. all of her sisters had to have one as well as her sisters in law. So she feels like the lone soldier. I understand where she's coming from, but I feel like I'm being attacked everytime we talk. I guess I'll just have to wait for her to get over it.
