Good news: I'm Shrinking!!

I;m not believing this...I went in Friday for a 4-month check-up and the gyn said the fibroids had shifted. Off to the ultrasound on Monday. She called with results today...The 2 large aliens (8 - 10cm) have each shrunk by 2 cm !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! She suspets they are starving since I went off BCP's in Feb.
This is also a plea for each of you: the 1st gyn I saw in Feb wanted an immediate hysterectomy. I said no and went to another who has promised to monitor me thru this, up to menopause or surgery if it comes to that. Surgery never felt right for me. So YOU ALL go get that 2nd opinion if you don't feel right for you!

Good news: I'm Shrinking!!

Makes sense since fibroids feed on estrogen. Stay off the bc pills. Also watch your intake of estrogenic foods. Soy = estrogenic.

Still No Hyster

Ladies, 2 years ago I was diagnosed with fibroids and the first gyn said immediate hyster. I said no and never saw her again. Am being monitored by another gyn and things are the same as ever. I don't have heavy periods or run to the bathroom a lot so I'm still hopeful I will get to menopause without surgery.

So I still encourage everyone to get that second or third opinion! WE are the ones in charge of our lives!

Good news: I'm Shrinking!!

C O N G R A T U L A T I O N S MSCOT!!!

Mine are also shrinking, after myomectomy and insertion of a Mirena IUD.
The fibroids that showed up last May shrunk by fall. I am grateful for the progesterone in the Mirena. I am 52.

Here's to the lot of us muddling along and hoping to get to menopause without a hyst.
