adhesions? constipation?

I am scheduled for a dx lap in about a week for the return of right lower pelvic pain (already had 4 laps and then a TAH/BSO in 2004 all due to endo) and I am wondering if constipation can cause the same pain? I also started on a med that can cause constipation too, but beforehand, I always had problems with constipation. This is an embarrassing topic for me, but I am so fearful of getting into the OR and they find that it was due to that and not adhesions, etc. I have had to take laxatives(2 pills in two days) and nothing would happen until the third day! I mean it would be good that they would find nothing, but I just don't want to waste anyone's time. Also, when I press on my lower pelvis it is tender too. I don't think it is related to constipation since they found fluid in my pelvis when they did my u/s, but I can't help wondering and I am terrified of what they will find. I am not sure what the fluid means (could this be due to constipation?), but I was told it was not normal to have fluid and it could be due to inflammation, but from what??? I'm so confused He most likely thinks it is from adhesions, etc., but I don't want to make a fool of myself. I totally trust him because he is an awesome doctor. I think I may just be getting the pre-surgery butterflies.

Thanks for listening and for any suggestions or comments.

I wondered the same thing, as when I was constipated (which is usual) the "new" pains (not the left sided, which are still there) would get worse. Turns out from my lap that the adhesions had glued my bowels together, so when the stool tried to pass through, I would get pains like crazy, then it would get through, I was left with just my usual pain, then it would start again as it moved through again!!! So, long and short, have the lap!!! I noticed a great improvement since doctor freed up by bowels from each other. Hopefully you will find the same thing. I know, a lap is surgery, and for me the recovry time was two weeks off work, and another two before I felt like myself again (with "just" this left sided pain!) Good Luck to you, it will at least put your mind at ease.
