1 month down, ready to work out! Am I ready?

Hi All

Yesterday was my 1 month surgery-versary and I am doing very well. I had a 4 week check up and I was released to light activity and all those good things that make life go by. I have been doing some walking and I grow stronger each day. I want to know when is it a good time to go back to the gym. My doc said no weight lifting, nothing over 15lbs for at least another3 weeks. But he said treadmill and walking is good. I just need a bit more aerobics than walking...Has anyone else started the gym yet? I want to do some work on the tummy and can I use the eliptical machine? I had a TAH with left ovary removal.

i would check with my doc, if i were you. the no lifting over 15 pounds is so you don't engage your abdominal muscles as the healing internally is still going on. doing tummy exercises would be counter to that i would think. i would think the elliptical would also engage abdominals too much.

but really, it depends on what your doctor says. i'd say call and ask. perhaps it will be fine.
