My results are in!!

The nurse just called and my biopsy results are
severe dysplasia non cancer. The biopsy of the cervix canal were normal... no abnormal cells found.

She said I'll come in for a LEEP next week and another pap in 6 months.

From reading I thought severe dysplasia was cancer?? But the nurse kept saying several times... NO cancer found... pre cancer yes... cancer no. I asked if my results had a level... Like CIN?? or whatever she said no. ???? I'm a bit confused... but focusing on the NON cancer answers.

So that's my results.

Any thoughts???

Thanks!

Oh, that is wonderful!!!!!!!!! God Bless You

What I found out was this:
At 18, I had hyperplasia, which is also pre-cancer cells. I had a D & C and was fine until age 40. At 40, I had sever pain (which I always had during my period) but this time it was very bad. I found a DR that was open and ran over. I had a Sonogram and they found a mass. I wound up having ovarian cancer, but thank GOD, it was very early stage. So, I was told that the warning signs came at 18. It took a long time to come, but I think it is a great thing to have warning signs so you can be on top of it. Just make sure to keep up with your gyn appts and you will be just fine. Hugs to you!

Worried Sick that is sooo AWSOME!!!

I think your doctor may be the type to refer to ANYTHING that's not "normal" as "pre-cancer". I wouldn't much worry about it. If they said there's no stage that means you caught before there was a chance for it to form into anything else.

Have faith in your doctor. And I'd suggest not talking to the nurse anymore. Go straight to the doc with your questions and if there's something that's unclear ask her to explain it in terms YOU can understand!

Cervical cancer almost always begins as cervical dysplasia or precancerous changes.
This is good that it has been caught NOW..That is wonderful news.

The first stage(actually called stage 0) of cervical cancer is called carcinoma in situ...yours has not quite reached that far.
It is a lot of info...I hope I was able to make soem sense of it to you.
Best wishes on your LEEP.

Thank you all for taking the time to post! I'm so thankful that I finally went for my pap because God only knows how much longer it would have taken for it to become cancer. I realize I was knocking on that door, being I was diagnosed as severe dysplasia. I could kick myself for waiting 8 years!! But no health ins. and the thought it won't happen to me.

Now I'm on a mission to make sure every woman is up to date on her yearly check ups. It's so important.

Thank you for putting up with me over the last few days. You ladies are such
