I had my first ALL day post-op outing yesterday!

Hi ladies -
I hope you all had a wonderful weekend and are all feeling well today!
I wanted to share something with all of you.
Yesterday I went on my 1st ALL day outing at the Nascar races in Sonoma, California!
The weather was hot in the sun ( and I worried a little about so much sun because I am on HRT ) but I did pretty well. There were alot of hills to climb going to and from parking and alot of steps up the bleachers but I made it. I did real well on those hard seats too! I thought forsure I would be feeling badly ( pain mainly ) towards the end of the day ( 8-9 hours there ) but I felt no pain except once when we were walking up to the trailer my DH's company rented for all of us there to use I had a funny kind of sharp pain on my lower right side of my abdomen. It went away pretty quickly.
Only thing that kind of got me was after all day in the sun and all the walking we had to walk quite a distance straight up hill in the heat and by the time we reached the trailer I was feeling some exhaustion so my DH took me insde the trailer where it had AC and had me drink water and eat and I stayed in there til we left and felt ALOT better.

Oh and one more thing... for anyone that watches the "Foodnetwork" like my DH and I do....we saw the winner of New Foodnetworks Star challenge winner Guy Fieri!!! So me and my DH walked up to him and shook his hand and told him we had wanted him to win his own show all along. He actually lives in the town next to us! I felt like I had just met a celebrity! It was so cooooool.
Anyway we had a great time.

HUGS to you all!!!

I had my first ALL day post-op outing yesterday!

Hi April,

Sounds like a great weekend!!! So happy you did so well and had fun. Isn't it great to feel "normal" again? I haven't tried anything as big as your weekend but am encouraged by you to do so now. Take care.

I feel better all the time. Have been going to parties, to yard sales with DH, movies with DS and restuarants but nothing as fun as you. I like the drag races and I think there are some local ones in July, so I might give them a try. National races are in Sept and Oct I really want to go for those. It is nice to hear that we are all getting better together. This site has been a great help to me. Thanks Sister!

Wow that's cool. That is what we go to. Maple Grove PA is in Sept., around 9/11 and this year for the first time they are having them in Virginia in October. If you have never been, you will love them. Get there early and take the boys in the pits for pictures and autographs. My DH loves Angelle (sp?), she races motorcycles but he has never been able to catch her for an autograph. I love the smell of burning rubber and nitro in the morning, hehe.

Hey Ann -
My cousin works with the pit crew at the NHRA races so I have to call my Uncle to find out which one hes with so we can take the boys down in the pits and walk around! It should be alot of fun!
