Polyp, anyone?

I have a sessile (broad-based) endometrial polyp that will be removed on July 18 with a d & c and hysteroscopy. I know that most polyps are benign, but I'm just nervous. Are sessile ones more dangerous than the ones that hang on a thin stem?

Do you bleed heavier when a polyp is removed?

Thanks for any information!

Judy

Polyp, anyone?

I don't know about sessile polyps, but I had polyps during 2 of my D&Cs. From what I understand, the polyp is just a build up of blood and tissue and usually benign.

I did bleed alot during these D&C's, but in both cases, it was when my lining was very thick, the last time 2 CMs. I think the amount you bleed is in correlation to the thickness of the lining and the amount of scraping they have to do.

Good luck,
Angelnight

Polyp, anyone?

Hi Judy,

So far, I'm doing ok on the medication. It has impacted my appetite a bit, but I'm trying to eat healthy and if I get the munchies, I'm going for things like blueberries.

I just wish I didn't have to be on this medication for 6 months, but the doc said I could give it 6 months as it took 6 months on this amount of the medication to clear things the last time. I'd rather have my next D&C be my last one (it'll be #5). Thanks for asking. I'll keep you in my prayers that this polyp is benign and nothing more then a nuissance.
