Will increasing HRT dose help?

It's been almost 10 years since my hysterectomy (kept my ovaries, but they're probably dried up now). I have done really well and now take 1 mg. estradiol/day. For the past several months I have noticed that my skin looks SO wrinkled and shriveled up! Not my face, but my arms look like my grandmother's used to! I am a young 51 and everyone says I don't look my age, but I cannot stand the sight of my arms. I realize some of this is sun-damage and what's done is done, but do you think increasing my hormone dose would help this? Like maybe 1mg. in the morning and 1 mg. at night?

Will increasing HRT dose help?

There's a long list of symptoms we can experience when our estrogen level is low. Have you checked out the too much/too little symptom list? I think it's helpful to print it off and check the symptoms that are being experienced. If you don't have symptoms of low estrogen, increasing your dose isn't likely to help and in fact, could make you feel pretty miserable.

Unfortunately sun damage, weight gains and losses and aging in general can take its toll. Skin does lose its elacticity. I don't know that there's anything that can be done for it other than to make sure you're properly hydrated and use a good moisturizer and do toning exercises.
