This is my first time to do this. My uterus and bladder have falled and can't get up. I guess both my uterus and bladder have prolasped. I have seen my ob/gyn and urloigist. My gyn says that she believes that I would benefit from having a hysterectomy but leave my ovaries if they are in good shape. At the same time my UR is going to put my bladder back where it belongs and reattached it to my pelvic wall.

My GYN says that my uterus is pretty wide and that she could do a vaginal hyst. with using a laporascpy to release my ovaries. Or it can be done abdmoninally.
I asked her what happens if she does it vaginally and my uterus it just too big to come out that way. She said that then it would be done through the abdomen. She say that she will do it however I want to do it but is also checking with my UR to see what he will be doing. I'm thinking of having the hysto. done through the abdomen so that I know for sure that it will come out ok.

Just wonder if anybody has had to decide which way to go.

I had my vaginally and it was a speedy and smooth recovery. Had some small aches and pains but nothing major. No outer incisions.

I would do what procedure is best for you. Please discuss with doctor and decide what is best for you.

Good luck, I am sure you will feel much better once it is all over. I feel much better myself.
