5 weeks post OP - have 1 ovary left but wondering about night sweats?

I hope you ladies can offer me some advice here. I have one ovary left and have had 4 night sweats since the op (wake up in a cold sweat). Plus mild hot flushes upon retiring to bed for a couple of hours.
I have also had breast tendernes and pre menstral symptoms a couple of weeks ago. My Doctor says I have conflicting reports with night sweats and Pre menstral symptoms.
I also have had my share of a recent 4 day migraine worse than when I had my peroiods. Plus I have depression.
I have had a blood test and waiting for the results.
But In the mean time I was wondering as I have always had problems with the pill, even a low dose and could not take it . As It casued Migraines, vomiting, depression, Haomoraghing (Sp) and even the Mirina IUD while worked for 12 months then gave me migraines and vomiting so was removed.
Now after reading some of the difficulties with the HRT Im really nervous about having to go on anything..Im not sire if I have to, but can anyone who has trouble with hormones simialr to me offer some advice what worked for them??
I don't know if this recent headache was from the Estrogen re adjusting itself or if its lack of it. I always got 3 day migraines at the end of my period with depression, so this recent one would be around the time if I had not had the op....Last night was the first time I did not have night sweats...
Any help appreciated...Karen

Sorry this was supposed to go in the Hormone section

I didn't keep an ovary but from what I've read here it may take some time for the ovary to "wake up". Some have reported taking HRT for a short time to give the ovaries a 'kick start'.

Give the sisters some time to find your questions, you should have better answers at the end of the day.

5 weeks post OP - have 1 ovary left but wondering about night sweats?

Hi there!

I retained both of my ovaries (I was 44 when I had my hysterectomy) and I also had some issues with night sweats for several weeks after my surgery. I don't know that I actually had any hot flashes, though -- but it just took some time for me before my body's thermostat got back to normal after my surgery.

I'm hoping other (((sisters))) might be able to come along and give a little more specific help for your situation. Do make sure you update us and let us know how your blood tests come out.

I kept both of my ovaries and I had night sweats too. It has been a little over 7 months now and they are few and far between. I am 40 years old. i do not get ** flashes but I still occassionally get night sweats. i notice that they come during my PMS week. Yes I still get that. I am to a point where I do not notice it as much unless I get a little weepy then I realize 'oh yeah, it must be that time'. I also kept my cervix and kept waiting to see if I would still pass a little blood. Happy to say I haven't. YEAH!
