personal question
I was wondering about this . I had a TAVH an left both overies in an I was wondering if you have to use any type of lub when you have sex. I never had to before an I am worried about this. I realize this a a very personal question an I honestly hope that I do not offend any one reading this. If anyone can answer this for me I would be so greatful thank you .

personal question
Same as before your hyst, if things are dry, you'll need something to help with moisture. If you are really concerned, call your doctor tomorrow.

personal question
First of all you are not offending anyone, this is what our site is for. Since you never had sex before, try without lub, and if you feel it was too dry, then use lub, but your body will let you know. You want it to be enjoyable, not painful

personal question
Hi angelface
You aren't offending anyone. My suggestion is that you start out with some on hand. The first time you might be nervous and possibly still tender. You need to take your time and be prepared for whatever.
I still have my ovaries and we started out using the lub but find it isn't necessary. Give your body a chance to get back into it. Like you said, we are all different and each experience is different.
 's, Rita

personal question
I found that the swelling of the surgery meant we needed something. Ky wasnt good enough. We used astroglide which was suggested here. IT made a big difference. ALso hormones can go thru temporary changes at this time even with ovaries intact Everyone is different , I jsut wanted to let you know what helped us.wellwishes.

There's an article about Vaginal Dryness that discusses why you may need it and the different types. It's towards the bottom of the Post-Op home page.
