Blood test results. Now what?

testosterone 61 Range 5-73
FSH 35.26 Post menopausal Range 2.58-150.53
LH 31.4 Range 0.9-74.24
Total Estrogens 199 61-350 depending on cycle (which of course I don't have)

These tests don't reveal much but I had to push to get this much done. My question is, I don't want to be in the menopause range right? Because I want my hormones to be replaced like before my hyst (or better)?

(((Leslee))) It sounds like your estrogen and testosterone are right in the middle of the normal ranges. Do you feel like something is not right? Don't pay any attention to the FSH result - that is a measure of ovarian function and you don't have ovaries anymore.

Blood test results. Now what?

I am still having difficulty losing the weight that I gained (luckily I have stopped gaining), developed terrible cystic acne after starting HRT, joint and muscle pain that is debilitating and fatigue that is really interferring with my life.

I did have the fatigue before the surgery because of anemia. I am STILL anemic but my thyroid function looks good.

I am seeing my endocrinologist in two weeks to see if there is something else going on. The dr I found, who specializes in hormone replacement and menopause, does not have any openings until Feb 9th 2007.

By thyroid function, do you mean TSH? Did they also check T3, T4 and thyroid antibodies? Those can reveal more and earlier than the TSH.

You could stand to lower your testosterone dose, since that level is fairly high, given your cystic acne problem.

Are you using any progesterone? Maybe a little of that might even things out for you? Just an

Blood test results. Now what?

Good thoughts Linda!

Well my acne started before I started using testosterone and actually cleared up for the first few days I started using it. Seems like every time I add or start a new hormone it starts clearing up and I think "this is going to be it" and then it comes right back.

Here is what I use: Estrodiol 1mg 2x a day, Progesterone cream 2x a day 1/4t in the am and 1/4 in the pm, and testosterone cream 1% 3-4 days a week and I use about half the amout of what my dr prescribed. It is compounded with eucerin and that stuff is icky. Plus, this amount brought my sex drive right back and also eliminated my vaginal dryness WOOHOO!

I just recently had to up my estrodiol because of hot flashes so I think I am going to use my progesterone a little less often so hopefully I won't need as much estrogen.

They did check T3 & T4 but not the antibodies.
