Back from the Dr's

Today was a check up after my LEEP procedure. Today's visit was MUCH better than the last few. Dr. "Grim" was no longer Dr. Grim. She said she was very grateful I had started coming back in for paps when I did... they were able to catch this before it turned into more than Severe Dysplasia. The only thing was the entire biopsy was abnormal. But she said sometimes the body can heal itself after a LEEP... because they get rid of most of the bad area. We won't know until my next pap in Sept. IF it comes back abnormal, she said I'll have to go into the hospital for a more extensive procedure. She said my cervix has healed beautifully!! LOL I was happy to know that.
She told me at this point there was no reason to believe I have cancer~ to enjoy my summer and she'd see me back in Sept. Totally different attitude than the last few visits~ when she felt that I did have cancer... so at this point, it's all good!!

Whooo hoooo, it's been a crazy 2 months going through this. Thank you all for helping me get through this... and I pray that in Sept. all is well!!

I pray for you ladies everynight!!!!

Thanks and take care of yourself!

I like good news. Happy for you.

My gyn/onc was a real grumpy, serious, almost arrogant type at first. I did not like her at all. I almost changed docs. Later on, she became a bit more human. I found out she was in her first trimester of pregnancy when I first started seeing her. She probably felt sick! I know I could not do surgery and what all she did, if I was pregnant. I spent three months trying not to throw up!

Anyway, she's still a bit lacking in the enjoyable personality department, but I'm glad she is a good gyn/onc. Her dad was a surgeon at Duke too, she says.

Don't you feel like all docs should possess a shining personality and take courses in bedside manner before geting into med. school?

I'm so glad to hear you got good news. Perhaps some doctors think the have to appear "grimer" to ensure a patient takes a possible cancer call seriously and does not go into strong denial and thus defer furthe testing, treatment; etc. In any case I'm glad you found your doctor's bed side manner much improved.
Please go and enjoy your summer.
