Ok, so just who decided...(humor)

that cleaning house is a pre-hysterectomy tradition? My life isn't stressful enough without fighting the 10 inch hose on my upright vac (obviously designed by a man who had never tried to reach under or over anything with a vac hose), chasing down dust bunnies (elephants), discovering the chessmen hiding out under the stove (my cats stash things under the stove), finding the dog's chew bone under the TV cabinet (I thought he had finished it off months ago), running out of paper towel with one window left to Windex... and another thing - if there is enough cat hair in my clear canister vac (a disgusting invention, by the way) where was I, oh yeah, enough cat hair in there to build a new cat, why isn't the current cat bald?

So I go through all this under the impression that I will enjoy it when I get home. Yeah, right!!! The cat will stop shedding (molting), and DH will maintain a neat and tidy environment for the next three days... what kind of drug addict thought that one up? I want what he's got. Better yet, I want him to experience the bowel prep suppository. He can join the idiot who invented the 10 inch vac hose.

Cranky? Me? Heck no! I'm about to settle down to my dinner-my cup of gourmet chicken broth, and crystal wine glass of water. So just who invented this whole "clear diet" thing anyway? At preop, they made a big deal about the clear diet after 6 PM, and no hard candy. If the candy is clear, what is the difference between it and Sprite when it hits the stomach?

Any takers on these mind bending and possibly Earth shaking quesions? Additions welcome!

Z.

Well, it's obvious that you still have your sense of humor
Best wishes at the castle today. I hope that the cat doesn't shed too much ( I have a few too )and the dust bunnies behave while you're gone.

Please let us know who you are when you feel up to it.

Cleaning before is our last chance at a little control. If you think the pre-op clear diet is funny just wait for the post-op in-hospital diet. They gave me beef boullion (I'm a vegetarian), and this red sorbet stuff that was held together with glue. And jello? What healing properties does that have?

I know what you mean...My mother is coming to help us out while I am recovering. (she is so sweet) So, I am trying to make the house at least half way acceptable, so my mom doesn't go running in the other direction and looking like the kid on Home Alone.

Z - thank you so much!

Wish I had read that BEFORE my surgery!

I did the whole "clean the house and cook like a madwoman" before my surgery. Then I gave ORDERS to my DH and 2 cats to KEEP IT THAT WAY for when I got home.

When I got home - I really didn't care about how the house looked, wasn't hungry to eat anything I had made before surgery, and the cats...well...they just cuddle up next to me in the bed - so my bed is fur palace. But there is NOTHING like cat purrs and cat cuddles.

as long as we have our sense of humor we will prevail!!!! I'm with you why should I knock myself out cleaning before my surgery if my DH and DS tear the place apart. Let them clean the toilets for once. See how if feels. The cat will continue to shed..I think I will get that Swifter Flick thing though and see how it works with cat hair. I wish I had as much hair as the cat. I'm with you on the sprite. what makes it different from my salivia? I won't drink much...I promise

That was just hillarious!!! I let dh read, and he was laughing right up to the part where "dh and ds can clean the toilet". Then he said, "now that's just mean!". What would they do without us?
