HPV, yeast and HRT

Hi Sisters,
I thought I'd start a new topic as my question is a bit different than the other hpv questions. I still have one ovary and am having one heck of a time getting the right HRT. I need some sort of estrogen...if I don't take it I have vaginal atrophy and what looks like these little paper cuts externally...especially after sex. I first tried the bio-identical ones but found out the hard way that I"m allergic to soy. So, went to a compounding pharmacist and he suggested the herb Dong Quai. I felt really good for a while but then last week my DH and I had sex and the next day I felt like I had a yeast infection. Well, it's been almost a week and the infection isn't any better despite my trying to get rid of it...and now I'm feeling the familiar itching of hpv. I don't know if it's from being intimate with DH or from the dong quai or what. Do any of you have similar problems with sex or HRT? If so...what have you found works best for you? I'm open to all suggestions. I called my gyn and he said to wait until my june 1st appt! ARGH! I'm sick of this itching! Thanks!

HPV, yeast and HRT

Hi --

I had both of my ovaries removed last October and my MD put me on Premarin 0.625. I continued to have hot flashes, dryness, etc. and he increased it to Premarin 1.25 and now I feel great, no dryness, very few hot flashes, etc. I mentioned to my MD before he increased the Premarin that I wanted to try black cohosh and he was totally against that and said that it might upset the hormone balance. Since he increased the Premarin, I've felt very well. He also suggested using KY-jelly for lubricant and that helps a lot. I'm not sure if this info is helpful, but I would keep trying to figure out with your doc what dosage of HRT works best for you. If you are still feeling miserable and can't wait until June 1st, I would give him a call and let him know how you are feeling...

Keep us posted...

Good luck,

Cyndy
