All that happened at my post op appointment was that my Dr. removed my steri strips and checked my incisision. He also gave me the official okey dokey to drive. No internal exam, which was just fine by me.

BTW, I had a TAH, kept ovaries.

Hope you are doing well, good luck!

Hi
I had mine yesterday. Dr laughed at me as he walked into the room. There I sat in jeans leaning over on the exam table swinging me legs. LOL. He kind of did the OH look. Ask how I was feeling. I told him to good for my own GOOD. He really laughed at that. No exam or anything. But I have no issues going on. Insision is all healed. My only questions was , Why to my Boobs and nipples hurt... he laughed and said I don't know! Then explained. It may be because either my overies are over or under working. That has gotten better in the past few days so...
I feel wonderful. I get tired and try to take it easy. My Dr. said feeling to good can get you in trouble. But listen to your body, it will tell you when you have over done it. I have done laundry. But try to drag the baskets not lift to much. I also do NOT take any pain pills as I want to be able to feel what is going on. I WAS tired and a little sore yesterday as I went shopping after the appointment. You wouldn't realize how many stomach muscles you use pushing a shopping cart...lol
Everyone heals differently. I have always healed FAST. I had 2 previous c-sections so been there done that before.
To add to this, I had a TAH with a bladder sling. I am not a thin in shape person. In fact about 60 -70 pds over weight . Diabetic, with that belly done-laped over syndrome.. LOL
I didn't have stiches or staples. He used glue, I had removed the strips and sticky saran wrap stuff at about 10 day after surgery.
Good luck at your appointment. Write down and questions you might have.

I had an actual pelvic exam but it depends on the doctor, I guess. Some do one at 2 weeks and some don't. Trust me, it didn't feel wonderful.

My first appt was at around 2 weeks and he did a quick, painless look internally. He let me ask questions and told me everything looked fine. I was told not to drive or sit in a bath until 4 weeks. I remember taking pain meds when I needed them..gradually just needing one when I hurt at night-actually took liquid darvocet bc it was milder and I could swallow it more easily than pills. All in all I say "don't worry" about the Monday appt. If you have been healing normally, then it should be a snap.
