Pelvic Pain Again!

I had a total hysterectomy last June and have been experiencing major pelvic pain again for the last 6 months. My doctor said that since I am overweight that my body may be still producing estrogen and causing the endometriosis to come back. He isn't sure what he is going to do now. Has anyone else heard this? What on earth should I do? He gave me the lupron shots and that worked well but once it wears off it's like i'm cycling again, cramps, bloating, mood swings etc. I'm not on any hormones at all, have cut all caffeine, eat a very low-fat diet and try to exercise when i'm not hurting. Help???

Pelvic Pain Again!

I am sorry that you are having pelvic pain, which can be miserable.

I see from your profile that not only did you have a total hyst, but you also had a BSO, both ovaries removed. Has your dr been monitoring your hormone levels to know that your body is still producing estrogen? Has he suggested taking progesterone to help your situation? Some women are able to use various forms of progesterone to treat endo.

Is your dr an endometriosis specialist? If not, is there one in your area?

Another thing that might help, keep track of all of your symptoms using ReliefInsite’s online pain diary and then pring the information to take to your next dr's appt. This may help your dr "see" how you are feeling.

I hope that you are able to find a solution to your medical needs soon so that you can find some relief from your symptoms. in there!
