Return to work

My doctor has said that I will be able to return to work 4 weeks after my TAH. I commute 1 hour each way by ferry to my desk job and 4 weeks seems like it would not be enough healing time. In 1992 I had a myomectomy (removed 1 cantaloupe sized fibroid) and my doctor at the time would not let me return to work for 8 weeks. I hope that I will be able to go back after 4 weeks; my work thinks I am crazy to return so soon. I would love to hear from anyone who has had a TAH and has returned to work or will be soon.

Return to work

I had a TAH on June 23, so when school starts on Aug. 17, I will be 8 weeks. I feel great now, but....we are having 100+ degree weather, no A/C at school and since I teach, I am on my feet all day. I am trying to decide if I want to start on time, start 1/2 days, or wait 2 weeks more until after Labor Day and pray for cooler weather. I am with you, as it is a personal and not easy decision to make. I just hate to wear myself down after doing so well thus far!!
