HRT weight gain/loss

As a sister who's surgery date is fast approaching I am interested to know if those ladies who are taking HRT have lost or gained weight or if their weight has remained stable.

HRT weight gain/loss

My surgery was Jan 5th (TAH/BSO) and I was worried about gaining weight on hrt, I'm not on much only 0.3 mg of premarin a day so far (had lots of endo, doctor wants to wait a few more months before increasing dosage if necessary). I lost weight after surgery and haven't gained it back.

HRT weight gain/loss

I have lost weight but it has not been easy, I had my surgrey on June 17,2000 and from the beginning that has been a big worry of mine, I had to start doing exercises for my back from the beginning and I have added bike riding and walking. And now that it has warmed up I do swimming in the evening after work. Plus my gp put me on a deit for my cholestral, but even so since Jan. I have only lost 15 pounds and it is really hard at that I just feel I should have lost more.

I have edited this post since I messed up and for some reason the admin would not let me delete it so I have to proclaim my stupidity to the world. The following post is what I wanted to say. If a Hostess wants to delete this I would be oh so grateful.

HRT weight gain/loss

I lost 25 pounds and have kept it off. I hope to lose more if I can get more active. I have been on Vivelle Dot 1 mg. since the 3rd day after surgery.

HRT weight gain/loss

Hi...I too am worried about this one - since surgery my doc hasn't been able to get my dose of HRT right.
First I was given various tablets eliminating them one by one as I was having side effects as well as symptoms still.
Next week I am having hormone implants put in (on the 4th of July) of Estradiol and Testosterone, so hopefully this will help my major problems.
My weight has stayed the same since surgery so far, however it is early days yet.
I recently had my thyroid checked and discovered it is underactive ( a common side effect after a hyst apparently)
According to the doc this is what causes the weight gain in most women after a hyst, but is manageable with medication.
So I guess we learn something new everyday.

Love to all - Judi
