Any appointments for this week?

Hi Basketnut,

I'll be thinking of lower then low numbers for your CA!

I'm going to get PET/CT scan results on Tuesday.

Wishing everyone only low numbers, no side effects treatments, etc....

I'm new here.

I'm waiting to hear results of my CA-125 from last week -- post round 2 of chemo. This week I have an appointment with the gyn/onc surgeon for pre-op stuff and a colposocpy. Surgery is supposed to be on the 21st.

If anyone has any clue why he'd want to do a colposcopy before my hysterectomy, please clue me in. He's out of town so I can't ask him.

Lori, I am praying for that lowwww number for you.

Maxime, I am praying that you receive good news this week on your scan results.

SisC, may your CA 125 results be dropping too. I don't know why your doctor is asking for a colposcopy. What type of cancer do you have? I have been away so I may have missed that.

s everyone

Any appointments for this week?

Sorry. I guess I forgot to say!

Ovarian. At least that's the working hypothesis. CT showed a mass in the vicinity and several other nodules. Cells recovered from my paracentesis (all 20+ liters of it!) were malignant.

Apparently, although the pap smear my primary care did in June was negative, the one my gun/ob did came back with atypical squamous cells (no biggie) and endometrial cells present (normal cells, but they shoudln't be there). That is what has prompted teh colposcopy I guess. But why? They're going to take it all out next week anyway!

Btw -- NEVER let anyone take 20 liters of fluid from your abdomen at one time! Of course, it's best not to have 20 liters there to remove to begin with.

Lori, the lowest I have heard for a CA125 is 1.6. Can you beat that record? Best wishes to everyone having appointments.
