cysts in uterus/ovaries behind uterus

Ok, I am scheduled for Sept. 9 for a hysterectomy. Said he would leave my ovaries, but ultrasound showed cysts on ovary and one of my ovaries is BEHIND my uterus What in the heck does that mean? What causes that? Said something about possible endometriosis.
I have had an ablation and been on Lupron...but stil pain and losts of hot flashes!
Anyone ever heard of these problems? ANd should he be taking my ovaries also?

I didn't have an ovary behind my uterus, but by doing an Internet search on "ovary behind uterus" it looks as though it is not an uncommon thing.

The question of whether or not to take the ovaries is a very personal decision and it needs to be based on your situation alone. I do have to say that if it's possible to do so, I would encourage you to try to keep the ovaries. However, there are times when they are causing too many problems to keep them.

I hope other (((sisters))) will come along and give you some additional insights.

i decide to get rid of everything..i didnt want to have to worrie about it later..im 12 weeks and feel great...do some more research and talk to your doctor.. what ever you decide good luck
