personal question...
ok, here's one for you....i've been having what i thought was a recurrent yeast infection...later learned from my dr that it is bacterial infection instead. i've been prescribed a couple of things..so far no cure, just made it worse. my symptoms usually start in the last 1 or 2 days of aunt flo's visit, insane itching, "mucousy", clear discharge (reminds me of snot) i know, GROSS! anyway, i'm wondering if my fibroid could be causing something weird in there? the nurse at the dr office looked at me like i was stupid for even asking such a thing...just looking for another opinion.

personal question...
I wouldn't think so, unless it's somehow changing the enviroment in there. The fact that it gets going once AF has stopped suggests that perhaps your natural PH may be off. Blood and vaginal secretions have a different PH, so maybe there is a connection there.
Have you done any internet research on your options for getting rid of your infection?
BTW - I hate it when nurses give you that look...you know, the "you didn't seriously just ask that" look.

personal question...
Sisterpn, here's what my research in the last few weeks has turned up about fibroids: Everyone is different. Most people have intense bleeding...I actually skipped this month for the first time in my entire life. Everyone seems to have a unique experience with their fibroids and from what I have read, the research is inconclusive.

personal question...
Thank you ladies. I'm actually not sure what specific kind of bacteria I'm dealing with( I just know E-coli was ruled out). I'm just at a loss because I can't seem to get rid of it and I really hate to "bother" the dr's office again. I'll definitely look into the PH balance factor. Thank you, ladies, for not making me feel dumb for asking.

personal question...
Hi,
I had that problem years ago. I used a femimine wash by........I forgot, anyway, I used the wash.....FDS had one out at the time. I used it and it cleared up in a week or so. I had had the infection for a few months at the time and was tired of trying yeast infection medicine. Hope that helps.
