Pre-op yesterday

I had my pre-op with my GYN yesterday, she was great! I just love her, she always listens to every little concern that I have. I took in a list of about 40 questions and she answered every one of them.

I do have to do bowel-prep, but only mag cit. Same thing I did before my gastric bypass and it wasn't bad at all. She said as for diet "low residue" the day before (Aug 22), like vegetable soup, no steak dinner for me!

She will send me home with alllllllll kinds of meds, narcotics and anti-inflamatories, stool softener, gas meds.

I won't have morphine post-op, she has a cocktail that she likes to give, plus with my history of blood clots, she said morphine is a good option for me.

I'll have staples, not stitches and she said they would come out about 3 days post-op. No drains!

I'm keeping my ovaries, but just in case they decide not to work we did talk about HRT and options. She works with a compounding pharmacy and will tweak things as often as necessary if the need arises. She also indicated she uses bio-identical.

We talked for over an hour, kept her last three appointments of the day waiting quite some time, but she wanted to make sure that I was comfortable with the surgery and that I got answers to all my questions.

I'm ready to go, can't wait!!
