Vivelle Dot ? Again

HI Ladies,
Today I went to see my doc I told him I was very interested in bio-identical hormones !He had no clue or he acted asthough he had no clue what they were. I explained what I had found out about them. I told him II wanted to be on Vivelle dot and then asked about progesterone cream, again he had no idea what that was. He then got defensive and told me he has done this for years and to give him a chance to make me feel better. The end result is he put me on vivelle dot 0.1mg/day and gave me provera 10mg he wants me to take the provera for ten days the not again for 90 days
he also gave me clonidine to help relax me before bedtime. Iam 46 years old and I dont know what my hormone levels were before this surgery can anyone give thier oppinion on this, does this sound right? I have everything but the ovaries.
Thanks big s to you all :smilie5:
You need to know that I have always liked and trusted my doc I just don't think he knows enough about hormones, before I went to his office today I found the name of a doctor who does NHRT. But I wanted to give my doc a try!

I find it odd that he has you taking the provera for 10 days and than to take 3 months off. While it wouldn't be unusual to cycle the provera in your situation, that long of a time doesn't sound right to me. I think I would get a second opinion or at the very least ask your doctor why he thinks you should be off the provera for 90 days.

I wouldn't worry too much about what your levels were before the surgery. Pre surgery levels aren't usually very helpful afterwards.
