stress, stress and more .....
ok here is my poor me story....received a call today and my surgery has been pushed ahead 1 week so instead of oct 10 it is oct 03. I take it stride, I don't feel mentally prepared and cry a little but I can't lose my mind because I have to go to the dentist. I go to the dentist I need 3 root canals and have to have surgery to repair my jaw. All this from years of grinding my teeth. So of course take that in stride but start crying on the bus on my way to work. Perfect timing in an enclosed area that stinks in front of strangers...lol.
I know there is no way you can be fully mentally prepared but if anyone has any words of wisdom I would love to hear it.....

I don't know that I have any words of wisdom, but you certainly have my sympathy! Sometimes it does seem as though everything happens as once. The good news is, the sooner you have your surgery, the sooner that will be behind you, and you can start healing. My sympathy also about the root canals. I know all of this is extremely stressful, but just think of our grandparents and other past generations who did not have these medical procedures available to them and had to suffer for years as a result. Good luck with your surgery. When you're feeling overwhelmed, breathe deeply, get that oxygen right down to your toes, you will feel better.

Aw, S
Bless your heart, a hyst and 3 root canals ( I hate those too ). You are facing a lot
I don't know about words of wisdom, but I find that if I stay busy , I don't have the time to worry as much. Start off by taking a few deep breaths and try to relax a bit. I find nice loooong baths soothing
You still have a couple of weeks before your surgery, maybe you could do some shopping for easy to heat and eat food to have on hand for your recovery. When is your oral surgery? That could make a difference on what you can eat.
It would be heplful if you would go to your profile and change your surgery date. That way you will be on the correct "Best Wishes " list too.

Give yourself a couple of days and see if you feel more prepared. Some people find getting a 'date' finalizes it and adds, others find it gives a destination and they start feeling they know when this will be over.
You'll have good days and not so good. I was absolutely blessed with those I work with . I had months between diagnosis and surgery. People just kind of knew when I was having a bad day and were wonderful. They were like family (the good kind, not the MIL who says 'well if it were me'. I heard none of that).
Remember, the lights always on here.
