11 Days Post and going crazy

I'm 11 days post op - TVH/kept ovaries w/bladder mesh - and my family all went to a baptism and party to follow. It is about 1 1/2 trip, I tried a car ride yesterday and my back was killing me and the bumps were bringing on stabbing pains. My DH has been home with me since my surgery and now will return to work tomorrow. All I want to do is sit and cry, can you explain - I thought with keeping my ovaries this was not supposed to happen. I feel so helpless I'm not a person to just sit and do nothing when all heck is breaking out around me. I have 3 children all of whom have sports and activities going on after school and on the weekends to which my DH is running them everywhere while all I do is sit. I try to do stuff in the kitchen to help out but then I get so wore out all I want to do is sit, sleep and cry. My DH keeps telling me baby steps, I'm sick of baby steps. I walk to the end of my driveway and go not even 5 min in the car to watch a soccer game and the next day I feel like someone just pulled me inside out. I know no one can tell me how I'm suppose to feel but the ups and downs are driving me nuts and the sitting around the house.....Can you please tell me why I'm so down ?

11 Days Post and going crazy

Big sis! I bet it's hormones. There are lots of posts here about ovaries shutting down or taking a while to wake up. I did have a BSO and felt just as you do a weke ago, and I was on HRT. I was tired, fatigued, miserable, and could not stop crying. I went to the doc and they had to up my estrogen. As soon as they did that, I felt MUCH better. I was still tired, but not as much. My pain is also improving daily along with my energy level. I posted the other day about whether I would be able to handle going to the office this week, and I ventured out yesterday to see what would happen. I spent 3 1/2 hours in the salon having a leg wax, eybrow wax, nails done, spa pedicure - I did great! I came home afterward, took a shower, went to dinner with DH, and did a little grocery shopping after. Granted, I was dead when we got home, but no bad pain. I even skipped my evening pain pill. I was a little more tired today, and a little sore, but overall, pretty darn good.

All this to say: call the doctor and see if they can help you while you wait for your own hormones to kick back in. Listen to your body, and if you are tired, rest and sleep. You will feel better once your hormones are stable and as you heal, you will see slow but steady improvement. Good luck and I wish you a smooth recovery!

11 Days Post and going crazy

Probably b/c (like me) you are used to being able to just get up and go and do things and sitting around and doing absolutely NOTHING (or trying to do stuff and being too exhausted to do anything)...is FRUSTRATING! everyone keeps telling me to enjoy the time off but it's driving me INSANE. It has gotten better since I've been able to drive. Some days I go sit outside and breathe in the fresh air. That helps tons..and venting like your post, helps a lot. I'm sorry you are so down. I've had quite a few days of crying and feeling helpless b/c I am not ALLOWED to do anything and what I CAN do, it's a chore.
