0.625 mg premarin enough?

I was not sure what a normal beginning dose of Premarin sould be. They started me on 0.625 mg OAD.
I cry off and on.
I would love some thoughts on my returning back to work. I work 12 hr. shifts at a medium custody prison.
I don't want to appear weak to the inmates.
Now at my seven week post op point--I am a different person every few minutes it seems. Thank-you in advance for any help.

0.625 mg premarin enough?

Hi,

I am sorry you are dealing with this. It may be you need a dosage change. I would definitely let my dr know how I was doing on the hrt.

Everyone is different and some people may need a higher or lower dose than others,as there is not a standard set dose . It sometimes takes some adjustments when one first gets on hrt in order to get the correct dose that makes you feel balanced.

Hang in there

I tried the .625 and for me it was too much. I felt very depressed, edgy, and had some pain in my upper right stomach. I think it was affecting my bowels. I have lowered it and although not perfect, those symptoms went away. Oh also I was very tired all the time.

You could try the next dose up and see if it helps. Then you would know if needing more estrogen is the problem. Everyone is different.

I had a similar problem with that dose of Premarin. If felt great for 2 weeks, then suddenly became extremely irritable, crying, incredible depression and mood swings. I wasn't sure if it was the dose being too high, too low, or just the Premarin itself.

I truly don't know how i would have made it without this wonderful website. i appreciate you all.
i agree--it's too early yet to know--and as you all point out--we are all as different as ...well, fingerprints.
Honest truth? i don't WANT to go back out into the world.--i want to stay in here with my cats and yorkie.

More then likely you are not absorbing enough estrogen. Are you taking the pill in the am or pm. You might try taking one in the am and one in the pm and see if the crying stops. This will increase your dosage to 1.25 mgs.

I had tears before my HRT was balanced too. Please don't suffer in silence. Call your GYN so s/he can make suggestions for your HRT/dosing. That's what s/he is there for. Hope you feel better soon.
