Today I am cooking a weeks worth of food that will go into the freezer. I have told my weightloss group, my book club and my spouse's group that I'm having surgery on Wednesday and not to expect me for anything for a while (a few of them will be bringing food on different days). I have my pre-op on Monday. Surgery on Wednesday. Planning on coming home on Thursday. DH has all of Wednesday and Thursday off and Friday if he needs it. My folks come in on the Monday after the surgery. Bought extra chapstick, cheap slippers and a new nightie that says "Off Duty" on it.

I'm so looking forward to having it over!

Off duty is perfect! I wish you well. I know how hard the waiting is...I still have 3 weeks....and am starting to go crazy! much to do, so little time. Ah well, what doesn't get done, hubby will have to do! Just think, next week this time you may already be home...or close to it!....Wonderful! Keep up the good attitude. Here are some hugs from me to help!

Ladies, the big event will be here before you know it. I can't believe mine has come and gone with me 3 days down the post-op path. I have found that so far I'm not cashing in on all the cooking I did pre-op. But those things can sit in a freezer for a few weeks.

The one thing I wish I had done is had more than 3 gowns at home. I like to have a fresh one on daily and really, it feels good to change at bedtime to a fresh one too. That's meaning more laundry for the family. So kudos for the parents thoughtfulness with the gift! I didn't use my houseshoes at all (I'm a sockfooted person -- what was I thinking!).

I should have also had ibuprofen ready at home. Never use it but my arm that supported the iv has inflamation.

All things considered, I've had an easy go of it so far! Best wishes for you both!
