Went out shopping today at 6 days post op

Hi Sisters,

Hubby drove this morning and I went along grocery shopping. I was going to wait in the car, but went in. He pushed the cart and put the groceries in. I just walk alongside. I did great! I was some tired, but did good. I even went with him then into Lowes.

We came home and I put little things away that I didn't have to bend or lift.

It felt soooooo good to get out. Other than being tired, I feel good. I don't even hurt. I hurt more laying around than up and moving.

Thanks for sharing. I am going to check a few more posts here and lay a bit.

SisterAngel - You are amazing! I didn't go to the grocery store with DH until after 2 weeks post-op, and then I felt so foggy-brained I couldn't concentrate on anything! I tried to compare prices etc., and finally just gave up because it was making me soooo tired! You are truly healing quickly, and must be a very strong person! Continued good healing to you!

Thanks Tamarin, I am taking it easy now...well I am making a dessert for hubby and i now after a nap..lol..but then taking it easy.

Gordonk. As long as you have hubby or someone take you to lift and drive...you should do fine at the store. It was sooooooooo good to get out of this house lol. Good luck tonight. Let me know how your first trip goes.

Hugs all.

I too ventured out today. My daughter drove me to the grocery store. We weren't out long, perhaps an hour or a little more. I had called in my meat order to the meat market, so we just had to pick up and pay there.

The grocery store was okay, although I did get a little light headed at one moment as it was the most wandering I've done and there wre sooo many people there.

Tomorrow, I have to get back to my regular weekly routine. Fortunately, my Monday's are very low key...I only see one account. Tuesday, on the other hand, will be interesting as I will see 10 accounts and drive around 80 miles round trip. Not looking forward to that.

My cats aren't going to know what's going on. They have gotten used to having me home and lounging with me. LOL!

I'm venturing out tomorrow as well. I get to say goodbye to the catheter. It's been like a ball and chain around me since Wednesday. Also, there is just a constant pressure, like needing to go pee all the time. I am looking forward to being rid of it. Today I offered to help DH do the shopping by using one of the electric carts, but he said no he could manage. I think he may have had images of flying cans of tomato soup or green beans. GizCat he came screeming back home about 15 minutes later, stating the same thing, that there were too many people, no parking, too much hassle, so he thought perhaps tomorrow would be better for that too....

LOL ChrisPDX. It's amazing how many people are in the stores on a Sunday. I thought it would be quiet around 10AM, but nope! Hee hee!

The meat market was quiet though, only 5 or 6 of us in there. I buy meat at Gartners, not sure if you have heard of them or not. Great meat market that has been around for a long time. I emailed my order to them on Friday night, so it was all ready when we got there.
